Hard shell choco ice cream

When the late night crave comes after Whole Foods hours (aka 11pm) it’s good to have backup ingridients at home. What you probably should do when you get a craving at 11.48pm is to drink a cup of herbal tea instead of snacking. Eating too late is not the best for your beauty sleep nor your digestive system. But what the heck – we’re all humans!

I think I mentioned before to ALWAYS have frozen bananas in the freezer. It’s what I use for my smoothies and nana ice creams. Also for this quick fix candy plate!

You need:
– One frozen banana (preferable already chopped up)
– Coconut oil
– Raw cacao powder
– Organic Maple Syrup
(optional cacao nibs + sesame seeds for extra crunch)

You do:
On low heat, melt 2-3 tbs of coldpressed coconut oil and slowly stir in about a tbs of maple syrup and 1 generous tablespoon of cacao powder. When it all comes together as a chocolate sauce; pour it over the frozen banana rounds and strizzle over cacao nibs and sesame seeds. Put in freezer for about 10 minutes and let the chocolate become a hard shell around the banana bits.

You eat:
One piece at the time. Letting the chocolate and banana melt in your mouth and feel the natural fudgy-ness of the nana. Also recommended to watch your favorite show on Netflix in bed when enjoying these.

Only takes 5 minutes to prepare. Sooooo good and delicious. You can also make it more pretty by dipping the banana in the chocolate and make perfect mini ice cream rounds…

I like it like this thought – always been a messy girl ;-)
